I want to tell you how I automate social media posting myself: not with a rented tool, but with my own publisher, on my own server, built in one day. This is a behind-the-scenes chapter. Why I did it, the night it went live, what I learned and what it still cannot do.
Why did I decide to automate social media posting myself?
Because I was tired of paying per network and running into post caps. I publish video every day, and every new network meant another fee and another limit set by someone else.
I have worked for myself since 2019, moving between Miami and Buenos Aires. If there is one thing those years taught me, it is this: when something becomes the core of your work, you want to own it. Content is the core of my personal brand and of King Studio AI. So I stopped renting the machine and decided to build it.
What did I actually build?
A small app, a few hundred lines of code, that takes one video and publishes it to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok, each in its own format.
It runs in containers on a small VPS: 1 core, 4 GB of RAM, Linux. It has its own subdomain, an automatic SSL certificate and a backup of its data every night. Before choosing the server, I compared locations in the USA, Europe and Brazil. I went with Brazil, because from Buenos Aires it answers in about 50 ms, versus about 160 ms to the US. When you upload heavy video every single day, being close to your audience is not a detail.
The magic folder
This is the part I love. I drop a video in a Google Drive folder with a short manifest file: which networks, which caption for each one, what time. Every 2 minutes the system checks the folder, downloads the video and publishes it in each network’s language: a Reel on Instagram and Facebook, a Short on YouTube, a video on TikTok, a post on LinkedIn.
What was the hardest part?
Not the code. The keys. Every network asks you to create a developer app, accept its terms and declare a privacy policy and terms of use.
- A Meta app for Instagram, Facebook and Threads.
- A Google project with the YouTube Data API and the Drive API.
- A LinkedIn app associated with my company page.
- A TikTok app that also asked me to verify my own domain via DNS.
Each one hands you an ID and a secret key. They live in a password manager, and I never show them. Not in screenshots, not in videos.
And there was another challenge: I had no terminal access. I pasted the code through the provider’s web console, piece by piece, checking each part before moving to the next. Patience and order. That was the whole method.
What happened the day it went live?
On October 11, 2026, I opened the panel and sent one video. Then I watched it show up on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok. One file, five networks, my own server.
I will not pretend it was just another task. After years of doing everything by hand, seeing that machine work felt like proof that the path I chose makes sense.
What did I learn?
- Patience and order beat speed. Small pieces, verified one by one.
- The paperwork is the real work. Policies, terms and approvals take longer than the code.
- Close to your audience matters. Server location is a business decision, not a technical whim.
- Transparency is also strategy. Everything I publish is labeled as made with AI.
What can it not do?
It does not sell for me. It is the machine, not the sale. Sales still come from real conversations with people.
Also, new developer apps can go through a platform review before getting full publishing access, and during that time direct posting may be limited. Not every network unlocks at the same speed.
Is technology the real difference?
No. Technology is available to anyone today. The difference is the fire inside: the real desire to change your life and your family’s. That fire is what kept me in front of a web console, pasting code piece by piece, until the first video went out.

Frequently asked questions
How do you automate social media posting yourself without a scheduling tool?
With your own publisher on a small server: a custom app, developer keys for each network and a Google Drive folder where you drop the video plus a short manifest with networks, captions and time.
How long did it take to build?
One day. The slowest part was not the code but the developer apps, policies and approvals each network requires.
Does an automated publisher bring sales?
No. It is the machine, not the sale. It saves time publishing, but sales still come from conversations with people.
