Building a business while working a full-time job is not a nice Instagram photo. It is driving for 12 hours, coming home with no energy left to train and still sitting down to keep building. This post is the honest log of how my 30-day challenge started.

Day 2 of the challenge, recorded in the car before heading out.

What is the 30-day challenge?

The challenge is a public commitment: from October 12 to November 11 I publish 5 videos a day on every network, track everything (followers, comments, leads and clients) and show the real numbers at the end. The good and the bad.

How did the first day go?

  • The night before, I worked on the computer until 3 a.m. I slept two hours, at best.
  • I went out to drive. 12 hours on the street.
  • Meanwhile, the systems I am building kept moving: my own social media publisher running on a server, a 5-episode YouTube series and the bot that answers comments and sends interested people to WhatsApp.
  • I came home tired, without training. And with one number on my mind: getting to Wednesday with $550,000 pesos for the car payment.

Why do I feel like I am doing too little?

That is what I thought that night. It is strange, because the list of what got done is long. But when you are building something big, the distance between where you are and where you want to be makes it feel like it is never enough.

What I learned: that feeling does not go away by working less. It goes away by measuring. That is why the challenge exists: so the numbers do the talking, not the tiredness.

What do I do when I feel I cannot keep going?

I remember that some people built huge things sleeping at the office. Not as a recipe: sleep is part of the work, and driving tired is dangerous, so I am fixing that. I say it as a reminder that results you do not believe are possible have a cost. And I choose to pay it.

Why am I sharing this?

I have worked for myself since 2019. Along the way I washed dishes in Miami, slept in a hostel and started from zero more than once. If you are building a business while working another job, I want you to see that you are not alone, and that you can build in parallel with systems that work even when you are not there. See how I do it on my blog and follow the challenge day by day.

In 30 days I will show you the result.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build a business while working full time?

Yes, if you build systems that work without you: scheduled content, bots that reply and processes that run on their own.

How much time per day does it take?

Less than you think once the work is automated. The problem is usually not time, it is doing everything by hand.

What is the 30-day challenge?

Publishing 5 videos a day on every network from Oct 12 to Nov 11, tracking followers, comments, leads and clients, and showing the real numbers at the end.
